System: Polished Concrete Floors with Penetrating Dye
Color: Midnight Black
Size: 712 sq ft
Our team loves working in Downtown Fort Wayne, and that’s exactly what we got to do with this project. The Find is a new boutique on the ground-level of the ASH Center. Sister store to The Trove in Roanoke, Indiana, The Find offers unique and stylish women’s clothing, gifts, home accessories, and women’s and men’s accessories and jewelry. The owners, Libby, Roya, and Melani didn’t want to stop there, however. The boutique gives back to their Northeast Indiana community by philanthropic means to Cancer Care, Prevention & Wellness, Children’s Services, and Arts & Humanities.
Since the ASH Centre is new construction, the concrete floors our team started with were freshly poured. The floor was ground down to expose fine/sand aggregate. The owners chose Midnight Black Penetrating Dye to color the floor. This darker color really enhanced the space by highlighting other natural elements in the room, such as the wooden accent wall that can be seen in photos below. After the dye was applied, the concrete was sealed and the final passes were completed to bring the floor to a 400-grit satin finish. The new dyed and polished concrete floors really complete the look of the space and give the boutique a clean, sophisticated vibe. The architect for this project was MSKTD, an architectural firm based in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
